do not hire his function room, I was absolutely gob smacked, he tells people its £20 to hire + £15 deposit of which you get back once you have cleaned up, – great so I thought
then after you have cleaned he tells you he is not giving the deposit back as we didn’t spend enough at the bar, duh its a children’s party – we did buy drinks am I suppose to get drunk when looking after 25 kids,
id go else where he is very rude – he even barred me ha like id go there again
I would like to have my say on Emma comments i opened the pub up specially for her during out of hours also she had use of the kitchen as well for 3 hours I had to bring in staff to serve her party and friends little did i known she brought in all her own drinks and in three hours we sold 3 drinks and my staff did all the cleaning up.the deposit is for any accident and mishap made.she was rude to the staff and the following day she came in the pub demanding all the deposit back i told she could have the 15 pounds back to stop her swearing at me and the 6 customers in the bar and i told her never to come back in the pub because we do not accept this kind of behavior, on this note she said she would start a campaign to blacken the pubs name.we have been here 65 years

I Had my daughters 21st in the summer at the wharf tavern. We had over 80 guests and the bar staff… Amazing! The function room was big and spacious, a bargain price! the beer garden was lovely situated next to the canal perfect for a drink in the sun! The bar staff from 7.30 till the party ended were very friendly and helpful to us and all our guests. The room costs us just £35 with £15 back after the room was cleared! Can’t get that cheap in stalybridge!!!! Some of our guests stayed over in the Hotel at the wharf tavern they again loved the hotel clean room, beds comfy, ensure and over looking the canal! Very impressed and my family are already planning there next stay at the wharf. Highly recommend the wharf tavern
